Declining Enrollment Myth

The decline in enrollment that the SC pointed to as a reason to close a school did not happen as planned.

Enrollment actually INCREASED last year and we stuffed more elementary kids into 2 1/2 schools than we did with 3 the year before.
The following year, there was a slight decline, but as indicated in the graphs below, the drop has been nothing like it was in the years leading up to 1980, when they seemed to have a good reason to close the school.

It is worth noting that the point at which they reopened Loker in 1992, they actually had 132 fewer students than they did this time when they closed it.
